B.C. spot prawns are appreciated around the world for their delicious flavour. They can be quite large, with a sweet & succulent flavour that is often compared to lobster. Lots of people call spot prawns the absolute best shrimp they’ve ever had! Nutritionally speaking, spot prawns are a great source of protein, as well as minerals like iron & zinc.

Spot prawns can be cooked whole or peeled (remove the legs and then gently peel the shell back from the meat). They can be prepared in a variety of ways like other prawns or shrimp – for example, grilled, sauteed, fried, or steamed. The key is not to overcook them, though – stop when they just turn an opaque pink.
Simple preparation methods really allow the flavour of these prawns to shine. For example, you could fry them with a little bit of butter & garlic, or throw them on a grill and serve with melted butter.
